Lean-to Shelter by Rovtjern
Location:
The lean-to shelter by Rovtjern is beautifully located at the forest's edge, about 2 km from the main farm and approximately 700 meters from Langedrag’s mountain pasture. You follow a gravel road to the pasture, then a tractor path for the last stretch into the wilderness. Here, you stay close to nature – with trout in the lake, a fire to keep you warm, and the starry sky as your ceiling.
Capacity:
One lean-to shelter with space for up to 15 people.
Toilet:
An outdoor toilet is located about 30 meters from the shelter.
Beds:
Sleeping space for around 15 people on the benches inside the shelter. There are also sturdy trees behind the shelter, perfect for hanging hammocks if you prefer sleeping off the ground. Reindeer hides are available for extra comfort.
Bedding and towels:
Duvets and pillows are not included. You must bring everything you need for sleeping outdoors. Reindeer hides are available at the site. Towels and bedding can be rented from Langedrag – please let us know in advance.
Common area:
The shelter includes a fire pit that provides warmth and a cozy atmosphere. If you come down to the main house, it is also possible to use the shared fireplace lounge for meals and relaxation.
Meals:
Dinner is served in the dining hall. For breakfast and lunch, you can choose to bring a food box from the kitchen or come down to the farm to eat breakfast and prepare your own packed lunch.
Fishing and activities:
Rovtjern is a good fishing lake, stocked with trout over several years. You can fish from the shore or use one of the canoes available by the water – use is at your own risk. Fishing permits can be purchased at the reception. Behind the shelter, there are tie-up spots for horses and enclosed areas for both horses and dogs.
Important for overnight guests:
Please let us know if you plan to arrive later than 6:00 PM on your arrival day. Check-out is at 10:00 AM on the day of departure.
Note that the shelter and surrounding area may be used by others between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM, as part of school camps and other organized activities.
Full board accommodation includes:
– Entrance to the park on your arrival and departure days, as well as all days in between. The entrance ticket includes access to guided feedings at 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM every day
– Morning chores in the barn and with the huskies before breakfast. You choose where and whether to participate
– Dinner, breakfast, and a packed lunch. Coffee/tea is included with all meals
– The opportunity to experience Langedrag before and after regular opening hours – enjoy the peace, the closeness to the animals, and the unique farm atmosphere
